  • We here at the Stewart County Standard Weekly Community Newspaper are blessed. It’s being mailed to every home in the county right now thanks to our advertisers. We try and cover every corner of Stewart County from Bumpus Mills and Big Rock, to Indian Mound in the Northeast, down to TN. Ridge and Cumberland City in the South, to Carlisle, all the way over to Standing Rock and Kentucky Lake, up to Land Between the Lakes in the Northwest corner and back to Dover in the middle. We hope you enjoy keeping up with this county as you will not see national news in this paper, only local news we work hard to bring to you.

Notice

The Stewart County Highway Department is now accepting bids for the following items for the fiscal year, July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024:

Metal Culverts

Concrete

Crushed Stone

Road Salt

The following items will be bid for six (6) months, July 1, 2023 to December 31, 2023:

Hot Mix Asphalt

Liquid Asphalt

Interested bidders may pick up bid specifications and forms at the Stewart County Highway Department office located at 135 Forge Road or by calling our office 931-232-5968. Bids will be opened on Tuesday, June 6th, 2023 at 10:30 AM at the Highway Superintendent's office located on Forge Road. Any bids received after that time will not be accepted. We reserve the right to reject any/or all bids.
